I woke up at 3:30 a.m. as usual this morning. I called my Alabama guests at 4:00 a.m. and they said since it was still raining and looked like it would continue, they would like to sleep late this morning. So I went back to sleep. The second time I woke up it was 8:00 a.m.

We went to breakfast at the diner next to the motel and then my guys from Alabama hit the road for home.

I have spent the rest of the day removing the batteries from my Suburban. Right now they are at Wal-Mart. I thought at least one of them was bad, but according to their tester both are OK, so I am having them charged up good and will put them back in the Suburban. If they go down again, I will look for a bad alternator or some other drain in the system somewhere.

If it gets bad enough, I may have to invite Bill Gilbert from J & B Auto in Harrison to come hunt so I can get it fixed right.
