Today was the opening day for the season. I had the 5th pick and chose hole 4. The people hunting with me were David Breedlove, Wes Wright, Brian Bishop, Doug Cox, and Tyler Cox.

We do not have many ducks here yet because of the mild weather, so we did not see very many ducks to call. A hen greenwing teal came in voluntarily. We told Tyler to shoot it and it didn't take him long to bust it.

Later a drake greenwing teal came in the same way and Tyler's dad, Doug, took his turn and killed it. Later in the morning a single Mallard drake came over the hole. We called it and it worked perfectly. This was Doug's first duck hunt and everyone deferred to him and he shot it. Of course Taxi retrieved all three of the ducks.

We had a good time, but that was the only ducks that worked our hole that morning.
