Tyler Cox, my 12 year old grandson, flew with me to Dumas on Friday, November 16th. We had a good flight. It
took us 56 minutes compared to 4 hours plus driving time. We were met at the Dumas airport by Brian Bishop,
David Breedlove, and Wes Wright. Brian was going to hunt with me the 17th and 18th and drove his suburban
down. David drove my suburban pulling my 4 wheeler trailer with both of my new Honda 4 wheelers on board.
Wes drove my old Dodge van pulling my old 14 foot boat with a 25 hp. Mercury motor on it. I could not get all my
stuff to Dumas and back without the help of David and Wes.
We put the boat in the water at Winchester where we do our hunting that afternoon. We, David, Brian and I,
boated into several holes on the north end to see what everything looked like before hunting the following
morning. Tyler and Wes rode the 4 wheelers completely around the two sections of flooded timber to do some
sight seeing.
We had dinner that night at Butch's restaurant and made plans for opening day. Before bedtime we were joined by
Tyler's dad, Doug Cox, who hunted with us the 17th and 18th, also.
I am late getting my emails started because I had a DSL line installed in my motel room this year. Century Tel is
the provider. They had the line installed when I got here, but I could not get my Alltel modem to work on the DSL
line. Century Tel sent me one of theirs and I installed it yesterday, so I am playing catchup.
