We went to the far south end of our woods, breaking ice all the way into hole 13. We used our boats to break the ice up and put out one bag of decoys and one robo duck. We had ducks to look at the hole all day, but they would make one circle and be on their way.

The highlight of the day was the break we took to eat my wife's duck gumbo served over rice. We had to use the propane catalytic heater to warm the meal. Our little one burner propane cooker wouldn't stay lit. We finally decided that it was too cold for it to operate properly. Anyway, Edith did a great job on the duck gumbo and we really enjoyed it.

We killed the only three ducks that came in the hole, which were three Shovelers. They landed on the far right end of the hole, but they did not have a chance looking at five guns.
