Just like the last two days, Noel and I hunted hole 6 again. The ice was not as thick this morning and it started melting in a big way by noon. Noel and I suffered through another morning in beautiful weather, but did not see a duck to call. We know that ducks will be here sooner or later. Now we are afraid it will be later, maybe even after the season is over, if at all.

Wayne Owen went to hole 5 and posted two ducks for the morning. Larry Otwell hunted in the reservoir and posted 14. More power to him, I am not tough enough to hunt out there.

Some of my friends tell me that new ducks have arrived in Newport and lots of ducks are being killed there. Also, I understand that new ducks by the thousands are on Bull Shoals Lake in north Arkansas. Maybe some of them will filter down to us before the season runs out next Sunday.

No ducks for me today and no pictures.
