I hunted at Winchester today in hole 6 with Bill Doshier, his son, Billy, and my son-in-law, Brian Bishop. I told them that a pair of Mallards usually drop in there at about 6:45 a.m., but instead this morning at 7:00 a.m. one Mallard drake dropped in while we were calling to ducks headed toward hole 5. We didn't have time to say anything. It was a case of shoot him if you can and we did.
That turned out to be the only duck that we had a chance to kill today. Wayne Owen went to hole 5 and posted 3 ducks. Jonathan Davis came in late and posted 3 ducks.
The forecast is calling for rain tonight and in the morning and colder temperatures. Maybe that will bring new ducks.
More later,
Royce
